Report: Knoxville Raceway Generates $74.2M in Annual Impact

A newly released independent economic impact report conducted by the United States Motorsports Association (USMA) has found that Knoxville Raceway in Iowa generates $74.2 million in annual economic impact.
The study, based on data from over 4,000 race fans and teams, utilized input-output economic modeling to measure the raceway's impact on the regional and state economy.
Other key findings from the USMA report:
- $18.7 million in economic output from the Knoxville Nationals alone, supporting 136 jobs and attracting more than 25,000 fans per day
- 150,000-plus visitors annually, with 56% traveling from outside Iowa, representing 45 states and multiple countries
- 622 jobs supported across the region
- $21.3 million in employment earnings created
- 30-plus local businesses engaged annually to support raceway operations
In addition to racing, Knoxville Raceway hosts concerts, first responder training, local fundraisers and other community events, welcoming more than 30,000 non-racing visitors annually, according to the study.
